I met Michel Voyer at the SCMT 24 Hour Run in Ottawa last year. We renewed acquaintances this year in France where we both ran the World Challenge 100km in May. When I heard that his club, JaKours, was hosting a 12 Hour Run this summer, Canadian 100km team member Sherry McLean and I decided to go.

The Race was held on a pleasant loop course of just over a mile on bicycle path and road along both sides of the Rivière aux Sables near the centre of Jonquière. The city is an attractive community of 60,000 people situated 220 km north of Quebec City in the Lac St. Jean area.
